ED & PAT MATTHEWS
Ed & Pat Matthews are retired from positions in the United Methodist Church, having
served churches and institutions in Arkansas, Texas and Congo, Africa. These include
pastorates at First United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Wichita Falls, Mountain Home
and Fordyce and Lakeside UMC in Pine Bluff. Ed was also in the Administration at
Hendrix College. Pat was a public school teacher in Fordyce and Pine Bluff and Christian
Education Director in Pine Bluff and Wichita Falls. They now make their home in both
Little Rock and Calico Rock. Ed is a native (4th Generation) of Old Joe, just up the road
from Calico Rock and many of the places you will visit are owned and/or operated by
long time friends and family.
They work hard to provide the guests of Edsrock Lodge with a memorable time. They
realize your time away from home is precious, so their commitment is to deliver you a
clean and well maintained facility.
Help Protect the Natural Beauty of the White and Norfork River
Ed & Pat both realize that they are only temporary stewards of this property. In an effort
to make sure this part of world remains as beautiful as today, they were founding
members of "The Friends of the North Fork & White Rivers". Through this organization
they work to protect the water quality of the Rivers from over development. If you
enjoy this natural area, please consider joining or making a gift to the organization.
